Architecture that melts

Architecture · Location · Character

The architecture

The winter hotel is rebuilt in new forms using ice from the Torne River. Artists create interiors that exist for a limited season.

Inside the property

ICEHOTEL 365 provides a permanent, year-round setting for ice and snow suites. It sits alongside the changing winter edition rather than replacing it.

Location & surroundings

The property is in Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden. The river, Arctic light and seasonal changes are inseparable from its identity.

Details that define it

The distinction between the seasonal winter hotel and the permanent 365 spaces is essential to understanding the property. Individual art suites are creative works rather than identical room designs.
